Statement from the Carolina Panthers: The Carolina Panthers today announced it has commenced an internal investigation into allegations of workplace misconduct against the team's owner and founder, Jerry Richardson. The investigation is being led by the outside international law firm Quinn Emanuel Urquhart and Sullivan, LLP, and will be overseen by limited owner and former White House Chief of Staff Erskine Bowles. "The Carolina Panthers and Mr. Richardson take these allegations very seriously and are fully committed to a full investigation and taking appropriate steps to address and remediate any misconduct," team spokesman Steven Drummond said. "The entire organization is fully committed to ensuring a safe, comfortable and diverse work environment where all individuals, regardless of sex, race, color, religion, gender, or sexual identity or orientation, are treated fairly and equally. We have work to do to achieve this goal, but we are going to meet it."

Right tackle Germain Ifedi was among several Seahawks fined from Sunday's loss to Jacksonville. His fine -- $24,309, according to a source -- stems from an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty in the first half as opposed to the scuffles at the end of the game. Ifedi was flagged and fined for what the league called verbal abuse of a game official. Ifedi said he has "no idea" what he said to trigger the discipline and that he didn't get an explanation on the field. "I don't know," Ifedi said. "I can't speak on it. I have to see what it's all about. Right now, no comment."

Asked today about Michael Bennett not being fined for his actions at the end of Sunday's loss to Jacksonville, Pete Carroll joked that not everyone was as fortunate. Carroll was fined $10,000 for running onto the field during the second of two scuffles.

Pete Carroll says RB Mike Davis (ribs) is good to go Sunday against the Rams. Still no clarity with LBs K.J. Wright (concussion) or Bobby Wagner. Wright is listed as doubtful, Wagner questionable. Carroll said Wagner got some work in Friday, which is a good sign.

Orlando Scandrick (back), David Irving (concussion) and Justin Durant (concussion) have been ruled out of Sunday's game at Oakland. Of the six players listed as questionable, Brice Butler (foot) seems the most unlikely to play against the Raiders since he did not practice this week.

Julio Jones talks about what defensive coverage he expects from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Monday night. Certainly won't see 10 defenders, as Bucs coach Dirk Koetter joked about.

Safety D.J. Swearinger said he still likes what the Redskins are building defensively for the future.

The Cardinals officially put RB Adrian Peterson on injured reserve today. They were also awarded a waiver claim on CB C.J. Goodwin from the Atlanta Falcons.

Redskins safety D.J. Swearinger said his former team, Arizona, offered him a contract the night before free agency, then pulled it back the next day. Washington then signed him. So, yes, he's looking forward to playing them Sunday. "It means a lot," he said. "A team that gave up on me; means a whole lot."
