The Lions have waived fullback Michael Burton to make room for Matt Asiata, according to the Detroit Free Press. Burton was the team's starting fullback the past two seasons, however the Lions went away from using the position in Jim Bob Cooter's offense. This likely opens up a slot for the Lions to keep another running back or special teams standout with a different skill set than Burton, who is one of the better fullbacks in the NFL.

The Jets will have their fourth OTA practice later this morning -- and second open to the media. The big question -- aside from the ongoing quarterback competition -- is whether S Calvin Pryor will show up and address the media. He skipped the first OTA last week, but practiced the following day when there was no media. Pryor's roster spot is in jeopardy because the Jets drafted two safeties.
