Sean Payton told the New Orleans Advocate that the Saints plan to bring in Oklahoma RB Joe Mixon for a pre-draft visit – although at least one team, the Patriots, has removed Mixon from its draft board because of the 2014 incident in which he punched a woman at a bar. "Our evaluation is incomplete yet because we haven't brought him in," Payton told The Advocate. "I'm sure we'll bring him in. We haven't had the discussion to say, ‘Here's our grade.' That all takes place next week. We'll bring him in and try to get a feel for what this guy's like, our thoughts on it, and then make the decision."

Interesting to note University of Miami QB Brad Kaaya (center) decided not to run the 40-yard dash at his Pro Day. Speed isn't a strength of his.

Panthers coach Ron Rivera said at the NFL owners meeting on Wednesday he believes offensive tackle Michael Oher, who has been in the concussion protocol since September, will play in 2017. "I do,'' Rivera said. "In talking to Michael, in listening to Michael, I believe he's going to play.''

Sean Payton on what the Saints like about new guard Larry Warford: "He's got ass and mass." Payton laughed but said, "That's important." Payton also said Warford is a hard worker and Saints QB coach Joe Lombardi worked with him as the former Lions offensive coordinator. Payton also said his vision for new WR Ted Ginn is "crystal clear." Likes that Ginn has played his best football in second half of career, has a level of toughness and, "He's still the fastest player on the field."

Did "Riverboat" Ron Rivera's aggressive fourth-down philosophy rub off on Sean McDermott? Rivera: "Yes, I think I did. But Sean and I talked a lot about those things. That's one of the things I'll give to Sean's credit is that every now and then Sean would want to come in and say, 'Hey, let's talk about this coach and let's debrief about that.' He's seen a lot of things I've looked at. I know Sean has done a lot of analytics in terms of studying things on his own as well. I really do think you guys are going to get an aggressive play caller.''

Panthers coach Ron Rivera on new Bills coach and former Panthers DC Sean McDermott: "Sean has no personality. No, I'm kidding. I'm kidding. What they'll find out more so than anything else is he's very passionate about what he does. He is the complete package in terms of a young football coach. ... I really am excited for him. Buffalo is getting exactly that. He'll wander around trying to figure it out, but he will figure it out. Once he does, change will come very smoothly to Buffalo. I really do think he's going to have success."

Falcons coach Dan Quinn addresses the media gathered at the NFC coaches breakfast Wednesday morning. Quinn said he spoke to Golden State coach/friend Steve Kerr and Cleveland Indians manager Terry Francona about the disappointment of blowing a big lead, like Quinn and the Falcons did in a Super Bowl loss to the Patriots. Kerr's Warriors blew 3-1 series lead vs. Cavs in NBA Finals, while Francona's Indians blew 3-1 series lead in World Series loss to Cubs.
