The 49ers released LB Ray-Ray Armstrong on Friday afternoon as they plan to activate DE Tank Carradine from injured reserve for Sunday's game against Seattle. Coach Kyle Shanahan said Armstrong was simply on wrong end of a numbers game. The 49ers are also intrigued by young LBs Elijah Lee and Mark Nzeocha.

According to ESPN Stats & Information, Russell Wilson needs 199 passing yards to become the fourth quarterback in NFL history to throw for at least 3,000 yards in each of his first six seasons. The others: Peyton Manning, Cam Newton and Andy Dalton. Wilson's 280 passing yard per game this season ranks third in the NFL.

Luke Joeckel is listed as questionable but was a full participant Wednesday and Thursday -- the Seahawks' Friday practice starts at 3 -- which bodes well for his chances of playing vs. San Francisco. Rookie Ethan Pocic has started at left guard in his absence. If Joeckel plays Sunday, Pocic or Mark Glowinski will start at right guard with Oday Aboushi (shoulder) ruled out.

49ers HC Kyle Shanahan said RT Trent Brown banged up his shoulder in the final plays of Thursday's practice. He called Brown, who didn't practice Friday, a game time decision for Sunday against Seattle.

As expected, the Seahawks have ruled out Kam Chancellor, Shaquill Griffin and Oday Aboushi for Sunday's game at San Francisco. Mike Davis is doubtful. Luke Joeckel, who has missed the last five games following knee surgery, is among eight players listed as questionable.

Ravens center Ryan Jensen said there are no lingering issues with Packers defensive tackle Kenny Clark. Jensen texted Clark to say he wasn't maliciously looking to injure him. "He texted me back and goes, 'I respect you reaching out to me and I'll be good. I know you weren't trying to hurt me,'" Jensen said.
