The Giants signed LB Deontae Skinner off practice squad. Waived OL Shane McDermott. This is because they need special teams help and Brett Jones and Marshall Newhouse looking good for Sunday. McDermott became expendable.

T.J. Barnes, a 364-pound defensive lineman, has been activated from the practice squad and could play for the Chiefs on Sunday against the Falcons. Two of the Chiefs' other five defensive linemen were on the injury report at the end of the week.

Wide receiver Jeremy Maclin will not play for the Chiefs on Sunday against the Falcons in Atlanta. The Chiefs changed his status for Sunday's game to out. Maclin hasn't played since a Nov. 6 game against the Jacksonville jaguars because of a groin injury. He did return to practice as a limited participant this week. The Chiefs also downgraded the status of cornerback Phillip Gaines to questionable for Sunday's game.

Source: Patriots DT Alan Branch has won the appeal of his 4-game suspension. No suspension now for Branch. He plays on.

For insurance with Chris Boswell injury, the Steelers have signed kicker Randy Bullock, who kicked for the Giants in Week 1. Pittsburgh released Al-Hajj Shabazz as a corresponding move. Steelers' field-goal unit just got more interesting.

The Steelers added kicker Chris Boswell (abdomen) to the injury report. He's questionable. Not an ideal time for that.
