Bucs wide receiver Cecil Shorts III was on the practice field for the end of practice, when reporters came back onto the field after the closed viewing portion was over. He actually jogged off the field. That's encouraging.

What's wrong with @steelers defense? Let's put it this way. They have 1 sack on the season. Every other team has at least 3

Somebody new must be in charge of the warmup music for the Panthers. Today Cam Newton seemed to enjoy dancing to "Your Love is Lifting me Higher" followed by James Brown's "I Got You." Earlier this week "Brown Eyed Girl" was on the playlist.

ESPN Stats and Information

Marcus Mariota had a 3.6 Total QBR against the Raiders on Sunday despite a decent-looking stat line: 17-of-33 for 214 passing yards. But Mariota struggled mightily on third downs, converting first downs on two of his 12 plays (he also was flagged for a false start on a third-and-9 in the red zone, which affected his rating). Looking only at his third-down play, Mariota's QBR was a 1.3.

Panthers packed for short road trip to Atlanta for Sunday's key NFC South matchup.

Bucs center Joe Hawley is snapping the ball to Jameis Winston in practice today, which is a good sign. He suffered an ankle injury and missed practice Wednesday. He returned but was limited on Thursday. If he cannot go, the team has Evan Smith as a backup.

No sign of tight end Luke Stocker (ankle), running back Doug Martin (hamstring) or wide receiver Cecil Shorts III (hamstring) at Bucs practice.

Jenna Laine ESPN Staff Writer

Bucs defensive end Robert Ayers is out at practice today but is on the sideline, chatting with assistants Jay Hayes and Paul Spicer. It's the first time all week I've seen him on the practice field. He had a cast removed from his ankle earlier this week. No limp.

Jets practice underway here in Florham Park. WR Eric Decker (shoulder) is out here for warmups but wearing a baseball cap, no helmet. Looks like he's a no-go again today.

Jenna Laine ESPN Staff Writer

Is it trusting one another or the system that has caused so many breakdowns for the Bucs defense? "It's trusting each other within the system," said Gerald McCoy. Each player can't be concerned with what the guy next to him is doing.

Mike Reiss ESPN Staff Writer

LeGarrette Blount is averaging 25 carries per game, so would Bill Belichick like to see that number reduced? "I'd like to see us win. That's what I'd like to see," Belichick answered Friday. "It's not about individual stats. It's about the team winning. That's what is important to me and that's what is important to the team."

Mike Rodak ESPN Staff Writer

WR Sammy Watkins is not on the field for Friday's practice. WR Greg Salas (groin) also sitting out a second straight day. Bills could be down two wideouts again Sunday.

Pat McManamon ESPN Staff Writer

DC Ray Horton started his media availability by saying a few words to honor Arnold Palmer. Horton met Palmer when he coached in Pittsburgh. "(Palmer) had, I think, an uncommon touch of spending an uncommon amount of time with people who are ordinary people and make you feel very, very special."

Who has the more meaningful bromance?

Actors Ben Affleck and Matt Damon fling insults at each other over which guy Tom Brady is better friends with (it's all part of a charity campaign for the fundraising group Omaze).

Mike DiRocco ESPN Staff Writer

Jaguars QB Blake Bortles on the amount of Jaguars fans that attended Friday's walkthrough and the support he feels from them despite 0-3 start: "I think if you are a Jaguars fan in London you've got to be pretty damn loyal."

Mike Wells ESPN Staff Writer

A very odd moment during Andrew Luck's presser: A reporter delivered Luck a plate of German schnitzel during the middle of the press conference. Luck lived in Germany for seven years as a kid.

Mike Wells ESPN Staff Writer

Colts QB Andrew Luck did not throw today in practice. That's been part of the Colts plan all season. He said it helps him stay fresh on Fridays before games.

Paul Kuharsky ESPN Staff Writer

Titans offensive coordinator Terry Robiskie: "Our goal is to be the best running team in ball, the best executing team in ball and one of the most physical teams in ball."

Jeff Legwold ESPN Senior Writer

Broncos head trainer Steve Antonopulos will be inducted into the University of Northern Colorado Hall of Fame today. Known as "Greek" by one and all with the franchise and most in the league, Antonopulos is in his 40th year with the franchise and they makes him the longest tenured employee in team history.

Criticism of Tannehill valid. But #Dolphins on road vs quality opp on short week, without their center and LT. Lost every matchup up front
