Jets daily draft nugget: No team has traded up into the top five more than the Jets — four times in the common-draft era (since 1967). None of the three previous picks (Mark Sanchez, Dewayne Robertson and Lam Jones) made a single Pro Bowl. The Jets also are part of another trend. Since 2013, only nine of the 12 first-round quarterbacks were taken with picks acquired via trade. The exceptions: Jameis Winston, Marcus Mariota and Blake Bortles.

Seahawks GM John Schneider told reporters Monday that Kam Chancellor will have another scan in late June or early July. That could provide more information on the career-threatening neck/spine injury Chancellor suffered last November. The team had no update on defensive lineman Malik McDowell, whose football future is also uncertain because of a head injury that kept him from playing as a rookie last season.

In his pre-draft press conference, Chargers GM Tom Telesco addressed an earlier report by Sports Illustrated that Oklahoma quarterback Baker Mayfield did not spend as much time on his team's playbook in preparation for a meeting with Chargers' brass because the draft prospect had to prioritize other teams with a higher pick: "I'm probably not prepared to comment on that," Telesco said, smiling. "My plate's pretty full."
