Source tells me USF wide receiver Rodney Adams had a private workout with the Panthers today. He also has a visit scheduled with the Vikings in two weeks and has meetings/workouts scheduled with the Jaguars, Patriots and 49ers.

NFL's push to include threat of ejection or suspension for illegal hits will be reserved only for what EVP Troy Vincent called "catastrophic" hits. Competition committee chairman Rich McKay said an explanatory video meant for players and coaches has only four or five examples.

The Bills and Seahawks have proposed allowing all officiating decisions to be subject to replay. That is unlikely to be approved. #NFL

NFL competition committee wants to show players a video of unacceptable hits that could lead not only to penalties but also to ejections and suspensions, according to chairman Rich McKay. No changes on rules would be made.

NFL's efforts to increase the pace of game will include a 40-second play clock after extra points that aren't followed by timeouts, and a strict 13:30 time limit for halftime, per Dean Blandino.

NFL competition committee recommending one more year of experimenting with the rule that moved the touchback to the 25-yard line on kickoffs. Would evaluate after the 2017 season.

Source tells me UConn safety Obi Melifonwu had a private meeting today with Bucs defensive backs coach Brett Maxie. He had a really solid pro day Wednesday. Showed great movement, fluidity, footwork and was explosive when he accelerated. Scouts really like his length too. He posted a 44-inch vertical at the combine (one inch off the combine all-time record) and his 6-foot-4 frame gives him the ability to match up against bigger receivers and tight ends.

White House press secretary Sean Spicer said Thursday that the Patriots are scheduled to make the traditional Super Bowl championship visit to the White House on Wednesday, April 19.

Backup quarterback Kellen Moore did not receive a signing bonus but he had $100,000 of his base salary guaranteed in his one-year deal with the Cowboys. Interestingly that is more guaranteed money than what Darren McFadden received ($80,000) in his one-year deal with the Cowboys.

New Saints LB Manti Te'o also said there will be a "level of comfort" working with Saints LB coach Mike Nolan again after they worked together with the Chargers. But Te'o said, "he didn't really recruit me at all. New Orleans kind of recruited itself." Te'o will also join several fellow Polynesians on the Saints' roster – including edge rusher Hau'oli Kikaha, who is from the same hometown in Hawaii. Te'o said he has followed Kikaha's career.

New Saints LB Manti Te'o said he'll play "wherever they need me … whatever's going to put me in position to get the running back, quarterback, receiver or whoever has the ball." The Saints are now loaded with middle linebackers with Te'o, newly-signed A.J. Klein, last year's starter Craig Robertson and former first-round pick Stephone Anthony. Te'o did say, however, that it's his goal to emerge as the signal caller from that group – something he has done "since Pop Warner." "I've always been a leader, whether it was inside or outside, I've always been a signal caller," Te'o said. "And it's not just to have on my resume, it's because I'm most comfortable when guys depend on me. To have their trust helps elevate my game. To have that responsibility brings out the best in me, and it's something I'm real comfortable with."
