The Saints' chances of finally ending their 10-game preseason losing streak are in jeopardy after a 99-yard pick-6 by Chargers safety Dexter McCoil. Former Giants backup QB Ryan Nassib, who is trying to earn a roster spot as the Saints' No. 3 QB, threw the pass slightly behind WR Tommylee Lewis (but still arguably catchable). The Saints' lead is now down to 10-7 midway through the fourth quarter.

Since the start of the second half last week against the Seattle Seahawks, the Chargers have not scored -- that's 16 straight drives without a point.

Josh McCown, the former Cardinals quarterback who's now with the Jets, to me on former teammate Anquan Boldin: "He's a special person. One of the best teammates I've ever had. Most competitive yet gracious and humble guys I played with. Makes those he's around better and I have no doubt he will continue to do that throughout the rest of his life."

Bills GM Brandon Beane's statement on retirement Sunday of Anquan Boldin: "We respect Anquan's decision to retire from the NFL. We appreciate the time he gave us over the past two weeks. He is one of the best receivers to play this game and wish him and his family all the best moving forward."

Former Cardinals quarterback Kurt Warner to me on former teammate Anquan Boldin, who told ESPN's Jim Trotter he will retire from the NFL after 14 seasons: "Anquan on the field, was one of the greatest professionals & competitors I ever had the pleasure of playing with! With all the great players I shared a field with, Q is one of top 2 players I would want with the ball in their hands and the game on the line! I am a better player for having played with him. But more importantly, he is one of the greatest people I was able to meet in my time in NFL! He has a heart to be a great husband, father & philanthropist - and is committed to making sure his legacy goes well beyond the fball field!"

ESPN Stats and Information

Three of the 14 WR with 1,000 career receptions have retired either during or after the 2016 season: Boldin (1,076), Andre Johnson (1,062), Steve Smith Sr. (1,031).

ESPN Stats and Information

Anquan Boldin still holds the NFL-rookie record for receptions (101 in 2003). He also ranks 9th in NFL history with 1,076 career receptions.

Saints LB were outstanding in 1st half. smart, aggressive. Might be deepest unit on the team now. Kamara is legit. Where's Brandon Coleman?

HALFTIME Saints 10, Chargers 0: Philip Rivers did not play in this one, and the Chargers could have used him. The Chargers were forced to punt four times and mustered just 43 rushing yards in an uninspiring performance for a second straight game. The only saving grace is the Chargers did not turn the ball over.

Jeremy Fowler ESPN Staff Writer

Steelers' Mike Tomlin: Not winning third downs the issue with the defense Sunday. Not enough pass rush or tight coverage.

Eric D. Williams ESPN Staff Writer

RB Kenjon Barner in the game, so it appears he has cleared concussion protocol. Chargers head coach Anthony Lynn had said on Friday Barner would not play.

Max Tuerk in at center, Dan Feeney at right guard and Brett Boykin at left guard as second OL group rolls in for Chargers.
