Jared Veldheer agrees with Cards

The Arizona Cardinals beefed up their offensive line Tuesday, agreeing with left tackle Jared Veldheer on a five-year deal worth $35 million, league sources told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.

The 6-foot-8, 322-pound Veldheer has appeared in 53 games, including 48 starts, during his four-year career with the Oakland Raiders.

Veldheer, a third-round draft pick out of tiny Hillsdale College, has developed into what Oakland thought it was drafting when the Raiders selected Robert Gallery second overall out of Iowa in 2004: a cornerstone left tackle.

His breakout game came in 2011, when he helped limit the Minnesota Vikings' Jared Allen to two tackles and no sacks.

Veldheer, 26, underwent surgery on his left triceps during training camp last season and was limited to the last five games of the season.
