PHILADELPHIA -- Workers in Philadelphia have greased light poles in a bid to prevent Eagles fans from climbing them after the team's NFC Championship Game win.
They've put Crisco on the poles in downtown Philadelphia to prevent fans from potentially climbing them later. Wild scene on the streets here downtown 4 1/2 hours before the game.
Officials say the grease should make the poles too slippery to climb.
The workers applying the grease are jokingly calling themselves the "Crisco Cops."
Once it seemed like the Eagles would walk away with a victory, the Philadelphia Police tweeted out a friendly reminder to fans.
Now comes the time in the night where we must warn everyone about the dangers of Saturated Fats. Cheers for #Foles! Jeers for #Poles! It's a long way down, baby. Celebrate responsibly! pic.twitter.com/mES5MpPTY4— Philadelphia Police (@PhillyPolice) January 22, 2018
The Eagles defeated the Minnesota Vikings 38-7 on Sunday night to earn a spot in the Super Bowl in Minneapolis on Feb. 4.
