Jon Beason to get MRI on injured ankle

GLENDALE, Ariz. -- Carolina middle linebacker Jon Beason reinjured his left ankle and was taken to the locker room on a cart in the third quarter of the Panthers' game against the Arizona Cardinals.

Panthers coach Ron Rivera said after the Panthers' 28-21 loss that he was unsure of the severity of the injury. Rivera also said Beason will undergo an MRI to determine the severity of the injury.

Beason had been limited in practice this week because of the injury. He fell to the turf with no one around him on a 48-yard touchdown pass from Arizona's Kevin Kolb to Jeff King.
