Ray Lewis expected to practice

While Terrell Suggs' status is uncertain, the Baltimore Ravens have reason to hope that Ray Lewis -- seven weeks out from surgery to repair a torn triceps -- will soon return.

The Ravens coaches are planning for Lewis to practice Wednesday, a source said.

Barring a setback, Lewis could return to the lineup for next week's home game against Denver, a contest that will figure prominently in determining which team might receive home-field advantage and a first-round playoff bye.

Suggs suffered a torn biceps in last Sunday's loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers, a league source told ESPN.

The Ravens have not officially commented on the status of the five-time Pro Bowler, but Suggs tweeted Monday that he will receive a second medical opinion to confirm the severity of the injury.
