DeVier Posey to open on PUP list

Houston Texans wide receiver DeVier Posey, recovering from a torn Achilles tendon, will open the season on the physically unable to perform list, a league source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.

By starting on the PUP list, Posey will miss the Texans' first six regular-season games.

The Texans made a move to improve their wide receiver depth in the first round of Thursday's draft, selecting Clemson's DeAndre Hopkins with the 27th pick.

Posey suffered the injury during the Texans' 41-28 loss to the New England Patriots in the divisional playoffs last season. The third-round pick played sparingly in his rookie campaign, finishing the regular season with six catches for 87 yards.
