Saints' Jabari Greer carted off field

NEW ORLEANS -- New Orleans Saints cornerback Jabari Greer was carted off the field with a left knee injury in the first quarter of Sunday's game against the San Francisco 49ers.

Greer was immediately ruled out for the rest of the game, though the specific injury was not immediately known.

However, the injury appeared significant, as Greer landed awkwardly on the leg. Greer had his leg placed in an air cast before being carted off.

Greer, a 10-year veteran, has been a key starter for the Saints' resurgent defense this season. He has started every game and has recorded one interception and nine pass defenses -- including a leaping pass break-up on third down on the play where he suffered the injury.
