Week 3 NFL predictions: Experts split on Browns vs. Colts

As two winless teams enter, all eyes on will be on the quarterbacks. Rookie DeShone Kizer looks to make progress in his third start, while Jacoby Brissett will try to bring more confidence to the Colts' offense.

The Colts have elevated running back Matt Jones to the 53-man roster from the practice squad and waived guard Ian Silberman. The Colts needed to make a roster move at running back because rookie running back Marlon Mack had been ruled out of Sunday's game against Cleveland due to a shoulder injury.

Browns favored on the road (for real)

When was the last time this happened? ESPN's FPI gives the Browns a slight edge over the Colts at Lucas Oil Stadium, as Indy looks to avoid its first 0-3 start since 2011.

The Colts could have cornerback Vontae Davis and safety Darius Butler back for Sunday's game against Cleveland. Both players are on the practice field again Friday. It appears rookie cornerback Quincy Wilson will miss his third straight day of practice with a knee injury.

The Colts could be without promising rookie cornerback Quincy Wilson against Cleveland on Sunday. Wilson, the team's second-round pick, missed practice for the second straight day due to a knee injury. Here's the rest of Thursday's injury report for the Colts: Did not practice: QB Andrew Luck (shoulder) C Ryan Kelly (foot) LB Anthony Walker (hamstring) WR Chester Rogers (hamstring) CB Quincy Wilson (knee) RB Marlon Mack (shoulder) G Jack Mewhort (rest) RB Frank Gore (rest) Limited participation: WR Kamar Aiken (hip) S Darius Butler (hamstring) CB Vontae Davis (groin) S Chris Milton (hamstring)

Signs are pointing to cornerback Vontae Davis making his season debut against Cleveland on Sunday. He's practicing for the second straight day after injuring his hamstring in the third preseason game. Davis' potential return is important because rookie cornerback Quincy Wilson is dealing a knee injury.

Veteran DE Kendall Langford announced on Twitter that he signed with the Saints on Wednesday night. The 6-foot-6, 305-pounder spent his first nine seasons with the Dolphins, Rams and Colts before a lingering knee injury led to his release in Indy in August. Before Langford suffered the injury in 2016, he had never missed a game, and he had a career-high seven sacks in 2015. But he played in only seven games with no sacks last year.

Which 0-2 team has the best playoff chances?

The Colts have been the worst team in the league so far, but their playoff odds are higher than several teams because we assume they'll be better once Andrew Luck returns -- if he returns, that is.

For fans of 0-2 teams already looking toward 2018: the Jets are the current favorites to land the No. 1 pick in next year's draft, though there are plenty of bad teams lurking behind them that have a shot.
