The Panthers made several roster moves after players reported today. The most surprising was the release of wide receiver Charles Johnson, signed as a free agent during the offseason. He was waived injured. Defensive end Ryan Delaire was waived for a failed physical. Signed was center Greg Van Rosen.

Longtime Panthers pro personnel director Mark Koncz on Monday was relieved of his duties the day before players report to training camp in Spartanburg, South Carolina, team representative Steven Drummond confirmed. Koncz was promoted to director of player personnel by former general manager Dave Gettleman in May. Gettleman was fired a week ago and replaced by interim GM Marty Hurney, who made the decision to fire Koncz. The Charlotte Observer first reported this.
