Cards GM didn't anticipate Reddick would be available (1:47)

Arizona Cardinals General Manager Steve Keim tells Britt McHenry Temple linebacker Haason Reddick was "one of the Top 5 players on our board."

Cardinals coach Bruce Arians said linebacker Haason Reddick, who Arizona drafted with the 13th pick on Thursday, reminded him of Broncos linebacker Von Miller "just a little bit smaller."

Reddick boasts unreal strength, speed

Temple's football program has only produced three first-round picks in the common draft era, the last being Muhammad Wilkerson in 2011. Haason Reddick's explosive play helped make him the fourth, going No. 13 overall.

ESPN Stats and Information

Haason Reddick has come an awfully long way, starting as a walk-on at Temple before tallying more tackles for loss than all but two players in the nation in 2016.

Haason Reddick stood out back at the Senior Bowl workouts. Plays fast. Aggressive. High-effort. Fits with the Cardinals as a versatile linebacker who can rush off the edge or play inside.

Josh Weinfuss ESPN Staff Writer

The Cardinals like Haason Reddick's versatility. He can be used as an inside linebacker or moved outside and help the Cardinals rush the passer.

Josh Weinfuss ESPN Staff Writer

The Arizona Cardinals have selected linebacker Haason Reddick from Temple at No. 13.

The Cardinals need defensive reinforcements, but imagine if they could add OJ Howard to that offense.

The Cardinals are on the clock. They can go defense and get either of the top two inside linebackers (Haason Reddick or Reuben Foster), a top defensive lineman (Jonathan Allen) or a top safety (Malik Hooker). Or they could go quarterback. The way the draft has gone so far leaves Arizona with a ton of options, many of which weren't expected at this point in the first round.

Josh Weinfuss ESPN Staff Writer

Now that CB Marshon Lattimore is off the board, if the Cardinals want to go defense, they'll have to decide between a safety (Malik Hooker) or inside linebacker (Haason Reddick or Reuben Foster). All three are likely to be available at No. 13.

Josh Weinfuss ESPN Staff Writer

The one QB who has been linked to the Arizona Cardinals is off the board. Pat Mahomes was drafted 10th by the Kansas City Chiefs, leaving Arizona in position to draft either Haason Reddick, Reuben Foster, Marshon Lattimore…or maybe Deshaun Watson.

Josh Weinfuss ESPN Staff Writer

With four picks left until the Cardinals are on the clock, it looks like they'll have their pick of defensive players at No. 13. The biggest surprise is that Marshon Lattimore is still on the board. It may be possible that Arizona has their choice of him, Haason Reddick and Reuben Foster.

Josh Weinfuss ESPN Staff Writer

The first 12 picks will have a significant impact on who the Cardinals draft at No. 13 today. I can see them going with either linebackers Haason Reddick or Reuben Foster if either is available. If neither are, then a quarterback may be in play at 13th. Another possibility is cornerback if one of the top cornerbacks drop far enough for Arizona to take one.

Josh Weinfuss ESPN Staff Writer

In a few hours, Cardinals GM Steve Keim and coach Bruce Arians will discuss Arizona's first-round pick from behind these microphones. The Cards pick No. 13 in the first round today.

ESPN Stats and Information

Carson Palmer is sure to be the Cardinals' starting QB in the fall, but he's far from a long-term solution for the team. The Cardinals will be on the lookout for their QB of the future in this week's draft.

Which player will the Cardinals take at No. 13? Here are the final projected picks from Mel Kiper Jr. and Todd McShay, plus the players Louis Riddick and NFL Nation would select: Kiper – Mike Williams, WR, Clemson; McShay – Malik Hooker, S, Ohio State; Riddick – O.J. Howard, TE, Alabama; NFL Nation – Haason Reddick, LB, Temple.
