Despite signing Mike Glennon in free agency, quarterback is still a priority for the Bears. Although it seems unlikely Chicago grabs a quarterback at No. 3 overall, the Bears could address the position a little later in the draft. Two names to watch: Miami's Brad Kaaya and California's Davis Webb.

The Bears named running back Jordan Howard and wide receiver Josh Bellamy as this year's Brian Piccolo Award winners. The Piccolo Award is voted on by Bears players only who reward one rookie and one veteran player they feel best exemplifies the courage, loyalty, teamwork, dedication and sense of humor of the late Brian Piccolo.

Interesting note from ESPN Stats & Information: only four defensive backs have been picked in top 3 in common draft era (Shawn Springs '97, Eric Turner '91, Bruce Pickens '91 and Bennie Blades '88). Still, the Bears only had eight interceptions last year, tied for 2nd fewest in NFL. If the Bears cannot trade the 3rd overall pick and Stanford DE Solomon Thomas is off the board, the Bears could strongly consider LSU safety Jamal Adams, Ohio State safety Malik Hooker or Ohio State cornerback Marshon Lattimore.

Want some encouraging Bears' draft news? Members of the Bears 2016 draft class -- Cody Whitehair, Leonard Floyd and Jordan Howard -- all started at least 12 games last year.

As it stands, the Bears have seven picks in the '17 draft (3, 36, 67, 111, 117, 147, 221). This is Chicago's third straight year with a top-10 pick, teams longest steak since 5 straight from 1972-76.

Gearing up for Thursday's draft, the Bears are scheduled to hold a press conference to announce the 2016 Brian Piccolo Award winner on Tuesday, and then general manager Ryan Pace holds his pre-draft press conference on Wednesday at 10 am CT at Halas Hall. The Bears currently have the 3rd overall pick, but are open to moving down in Round 1.

Draft Prediction: Bears will select a QB

Veteran Mike Glennon is the unquestioned starter in 2017 -- he will make $16 million guaranteed this season -- but the long-term picture at quarterback is fuzzy.

Jeff Dickerson ESPN Staff Writer

With only a couple days until the draft, the Bears have a variety of options with their third overall pick. Chicago is likely to attempt to trade the 3rd choice and move back, but if that doesn't happen, the Bears are expected to have several defensive options at No. 3. Their first choice would be Stanford's Solomon Thomas, but if he's off the board, the Bears will likely consider Jamal Adams, Marshon Lattimore or Malik Hooker.

The Bears will play under the Monday Night Football spotlight just once, against NFC North foe Minnesota in Week 5. Chicago's season-opener won't hand out any favors, as they face Super Bowl runner-up Atlanta.

'Grade: A' mock: Bears reinforce secondary

If Mel Kiper Jr. were running the show in Chicago, he'd take Jamal Adams at No. 3 overall before addressing needs at cornerback in Round 3.
