The Lions have signed OT Pierce Burton. Originally undrafted out of Mississippi in 2014, he spent time in Minnesota, Atlanta, Carolina and Indianapolis, primarily on practice squads. The 6-foot-6, 305-pound Burton joins a thin group at tackle including Taylor Decker and Corey Robinson.

Lions badly need receiving depth

The Lions likely will look to get younger at receiver but don't figure to spend big bucks in free agency.

Former Lions offensive lineman Geoff Schwartz announced his retirement from the NFL in a post on SB Nation on Tuesday. Schwartz was most recently with Detroit in training camp but did not play on a team in the 2016 season. A seventh-round pick of Carolina in 2008, he started 37 games in his career between the Panthers, Kansas City and the New York Giants. He also spent one season with Minnesota. Schwartz also hosts a podcast and is starting a series on YouTube explaining offensive line play.

Continuity Rankings: Lions middle of the pack

That the Lions are entering their third season with the same head coach, quarterback and coordinators is a minor upset for a franchise that used to write the book on turbulence.

?If he gets past the Lions and Jets, CB K'Waun Willams has potential visits set up with the Dolphins, 49ers & Vikings, per a source?. Williams is at the Lions today and also scheduled to meet with the Jets. He was with the Browns in 2015 as a slot corner.

Michael Rothstein ESPN Staff Writer

Cornerback K'Waun Williams continues his visit with the Detroit Lions today. He had his physical last night and is supposed to have more meetings Tuesday, according to a source. After that, the ex-Browns CB is expected to visit the Jets this week and potentially more teams after that. It does not sound like a decision is imminent here. If Williams were to sign with the Lions, he would compete with Quandre Diggs (and possibly others) for the starting slot corner spot.
