The Lions have hired Brian Picucci as an offensive quality control assistant. He graduated from Syracuse in 1994 and played fullback/tight end for the Orange. He was most recently the offensive coordinator at FCS Maine.

The Lions added former Eagles, Browns and Rams offensive lineman Hank Fraley as an assistant offensive line coach. The team also shifted Evan Rothstein's role to head coach assistant/research and analysis. He has worked with the Lions as a special teams assistant and then an offensive research and analysis assistant the past two years.

Also asked Matt Patricia about the Super Bowl. He said that yes, he did watch and break down what happened. "Yeah, I watched the tape. I went through all of it. Yeah, you know what, I think, for me, I'm not going to dive into all that. I'm going to let the Patriots handle that and kind of their business there. I would say, for myself, what I said right after the game is always going to take it. I think that's most important to me, that I make sure my players are prepared to play and ready to go and they can handle and play well out on the field. And when we lose, you know, as being in charge of whatever side of the ball it is, look, that's my responsibility and that's my responsibility to do whatever I can to help us win whatever the situation is."

Asked Matt Patricia if he would have played Malcolm Butler more in the Super Bowl. Patricia: "Those are good questions for the Patriots. I'm just going to steer away from all that."

Rod Wood, when asked about the Giants and Matt Patricia, said he felt there was "clearly competition" for Patricia during the interview process. He declined to comment on how much competition he felt there was.
