Adam Thielen is dealing with a low back injury and did not practice on Wednesday. Neither did Shamar Stephen, who injured his knee against the Saints. Andrew Sendejo (concussion) and Mackensie Alexander (ribs) were limited participants.

Vikings wary of sloppy field conditions in Philly

The Minnesota Vikings are preparing for sloppy field conditions during Sunday night's NFC Championship Game with the Philadelphia Eagles at Lincoln Financial Field.

Vikings WR Adam Thielen did not appear to be practicing today. During the portion of practice open to reporters, he was on the field wearing a jersey and a baseball hat. His injury, which the Vikings must identify via their injury report later Wednesday, is not believed to be serious.

Andrew Sendejo had a helmet on and went through individual drills. Adam Thielen was at practice but did not have a helmet and was not participating during the media portion. Shamar Stephen the only player not present. He sustained a knee injury Sunday.

Thielen misses practice; Sendejo plans to play

Vikings receiver Adam Thielen didn't practice Wednesday because of a back injury, and it's unclear how much he'll participate this week. Safety Andrew Sendejo, meanwhile, is on track to play in Sunday's NFC title game despite suffering a concussion.

Mike Zimmer said safety Andrew Sendejo will get some individual work in at practice today while he remains in the concussion protocol. "He'll be fine," Zimmer said.

Vikings coach Mike Zimmer talked to players this morning about capitalizing on opportunities, according to TE Kyle Rudolph. Zimmer told them he has been coaching in the NFL since 1994 and went to the Super Bowl with the Cowboys in 1995. He hasn't been back to an NFC/AFC Championship Game since.

The Vikings are spending a lot of time preparing for the slick turf in Philadelphia. DE Everson Griffen said he will experiment with seven-stud cleats. Coach Mike Zimmer also showed the team a cut-up video of players slipping on the turf in previous games.

Vikings released practice squad tackle Storm Norton and signed tight end Nick Truesdell, who was with the team in training camp. The move comes days after Minnesota waived TE Kyle Carter to make room for Sam Bradford on the 53-man roster. Truesdell was signed to the practice squad.
