Giants safety Landon Collins told The Michael Kay Show in his first interview since needing surgery on his shoulder that he was forced to make a "career decision." There was potential for more damage if he continued playing. He would have "definitely considered playing through it" if the Giants had beaten the Eagles the week before. Collins also said he preferred to remain a Giant and his gut tells him he will return. The Pro Bowl safety is a free agent at the end of this season and the franchise tag seems a likely option.

The Giants plan to start Eli Manning at QB this week despite being eliminated from postseason contention, per Pat Shurmur. He gives them the best chance to win. Also, Giants are "hopeful" Odell Beckham returns this week from a quad injury.

Injuries fallout from Sunday's loss to the Titans: C Spencer Pulley (calf) left in a boot. DB Antonio Hamilton popped his quad and left on crutches. WR Russell Shepard rolled his ankle and will have further tests done Monday.

Pat Shurmur explained the decision to have Alex Tanney as the backup QB over rookie Kyle Lauletta was because it gave the Giants the "best chance to win if he had to go in to play." Lauletta was informed he would be inactive when he arrived to the stadium Sunday and was "definitely disappointed."

Henry rushes for 170 and 2 TDs, Titans win 3rd straight

Bruising halfback Derrick Henry had his second straight big game with a career-high 33 carries for 170 yards rushing and two touchdowns. The Tennessee Titans kept their late-season playoff push alive and ended the New York Giants' postseason hopes...

Also the Giants (5-9) were officially eliminated from playoff contention with their loss combined with Vikings win. It was never realistic anyway (less than 1 percent per ESPN analytics) heading into this week.

The Giants offense may not be fixed after all. They were shutout by the Tennessee Titans in a 17-0 loss. Saquon Barkley was shut down (31 yards on 14 carries) and the offense couldn't do anything in the heavy rain. Still a lot of work to be done going forward with that unit.

Defensive coordinator James Bettcher said this week the Giants needed to stop the run and limit Titans QB Marcus Mariota out of the pocket. They didn't do either. Derrick Henry has 127 yards rushing at halftime and Mariota had 46 of his 62 yards passing outside the pocket as Titans lead 7-0.

Giants offense didn't do much in opening quarter. Saquon Barkley's three carries went for 2, 0 and -10. A grand total of -8 yards rushing in first quarter.

Rookies Saquon Barkley and Grant Haley arrive for Sunday's game against the Titans. Barkley is going for his fifth straight 100-yard rushing game and needs to average 153.5 total yards per game to beat Eric Dickerson's rookie record of yards from scrimmage.

Steady rain at MetLife Stadium now and expected throughout Titans vs. Giants. Some winds but nothing crazy. They're expected to be in the 10 to 15 mph range most of the afternoon, per weather.com. QBs should be able to throw the ball OK.

Janoris Jenkins might see a whole lot of Corey Davis on Sunday. He was asked about Corey Davis today: "What number is he?" When told he was 84 ... "He's all right. He's a receiver. I'm just going to go out and play football." #Giants #Titans
