Giants target best players: 'Can't draft for need'

Giants GM Dave Gettleman doesn't feel pressured to find a successor for QB Eli Manning with either of his two first-round picks in the draft. "I'm not going to force a pick," Gettleman said. "You can't draft for need."

The Giants signed CB Henre' Toliver. He's 6-foot-0 and 22 years old out of Arkansas, played for Salt Lake City in the AAF. Toliver also spent time with the Colts last year.

The New York Giants are finalizing a four-year, $41 million extension with WR Sterling Shepard, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports. The deal included $21.3 million in guaranteed money, a source tells Schefter.

Wide receiver and special teams ace Russell Sheppard is returning to the Giants on a one-year deal. Sheppard announced his return on his Instagram account. Underrated veteran presence in the locker room last year. Sheppard also had four special teams tackles on a unit that made a massive turnaround last season.
