Packers biggest underdogs in QB Rodgers' career

If the current Las Vegas betting line stands, the Packers (3-2-1) will be the biggest underdogs in Aaron Rodgers' career -- at 8.5 points to the undefeated Los Angeles Rams (7-0).

The Packers opened as 8.5-point underdogs to the Rams next Sunday at the SuperBook at Westgate Las Vegas. If it holds up, Aaron Rodgers will be the biggest underdog of his career as a starter. His previous biggest: 2014 at SEA: 8* 2015 at ARI: 7* 2010 at NYJ: 6 2016 at ATL: 5.5* *Playoff games

The Packers have released WR DeAngelo Yancey from the practice squad. He was signed two weeks ago when injuries hit Randall Cobb and Geronimo Allison but was never needed thanks in part to the three draft picks who have contributed.

Jake Kumerow and/or Trevor Davis could return to practice next week as IR-designated to return players (teams only get two all season). "We talked about that a little bit today, but that's a decision we'll have for you next week," Mike McCarthy said.

Mike McCarthy is not happy with all the penalties, especially on special teams. "You're not supposed to say you're frustrated, but I'm frustrated with the penalties," he said. "I don't like the pattern we've established in the first six weeks. Way too many penalties and most of that is on special teams."

Mike McCarthy said Justin McCray's shoulder injury is "getting better" but he said the rotation of Byron Bell and Lucas Patrick at right guard is a reflection that McCray was only available in an emergency.

Mike McCarthy on where his team is at the bye week: "We're making too many mistakes as a football team right now, that will be our focus moving forward."

Mike McCarthy said if Aaron Rodgers is indeed able to shed the knee brace after the bye, "it definitely gives (him) more free range, but those are medical decisions. We'll just see where it is. I'm sure he's anxious to get that brace off."

Aaron Rodgers had his fifth straight game with at least 40 pass attempts — a streak that is now two games shy of tying the single-season record held by Drew Bledsoe (1995), according to ESPN Stats & Information. Before this streak, Rodgers had never thrown that many passes in more than three straight games. Rodgers was 25-of-46 for 425 yards and two TDs. Here's the offensive snap count breakdown from Monday night's 33-30 win over the 49ers:
