The workout is designed to see if team officials want to add him to a "ready list" of players for emergencies.
That is part of the reason for bringing in Leftwich for a physical and a little work on the field.
"He's played in the league. He's been a starter in the league. He's won a lot of games. We're bringing him in just to work him out and see where he's at and even give him a physical and have him throw to some receivers that we're also trying to determine whether we put on our ready list or not," Fisher said.
Jacksonville cut Leftwich late in training camp a year ago, and he signed with Atlanta in September. He played in only three games because of an ankle injury and other problems.
