Nnamdi Asomugha leaves practice

Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha returned to practice Thursday but left after about 15 minutes with the same sore neck that has bothered him throughout the week.

Asomugha, signed as a free agent last year after spending his first eight seasons with Oakland, was injured on a pass play during a seven-on-seven drill on Monday.

Quarterback Michael Vick attempted to hit wide receiver DeSean Jackson near the left sideline, but Asomugha and Nate Allen, a third-year safety, converged as onlooking fans gasped.

Eagles coach Andy Reid said Tuesday that Asomugha suffered "whiplash-type symptoms and a split lip" but not a concussion.

Asomugha returned to the field Thursday but took part only in individual drills.
