By Pro Football WeeklyNotes: State of Georgia long-jump champ in high school, where he excelled in football, track and basketball. Prop 48 in 1998. Started nine games in '99, and every game in 2000, '01 and '02. Generally plays cornerback but can play inside. Recorded 57 tackles and six passes defensed in 1999; 51-10 and three interceptions in 2000 (after missing spring practice following repairs to both shoulders); 51-15-2 in '01; and 57-11-4 and '02. Positives: Good size for a cornerback. Adequate-plus range and cover skills for a safety. Showed well as a junior.Negatives: Poor senior year. Was exposed in coverage without Bryan Thomas and Eddie Freeman rushing the passer. Will lose a little something when he turns to run with the receiver. Lacks ball awareness when he has his back turned to the quarterback and can't find it. He is a little slow to react against the run and does not play that well off blocks.Summary: Much better in 2001 than '02. May not have enough speed or ability for cornerback, and his hitting and tackling skills are concerns inside.* Player biographies are provided by Pro Football Weekly.
