Notes: High school sprinter who ran the 100 meters in 10.6 seconds, 200 meters in 22.0 seconds. Running back and return specialist in 1999, when he carried 11 times for 29 yards and returned 17 kickoffs for 284 yards and no touchdowns. College sprinter who finished 12th in the Big Ten Indoor 60-meter dash (6.94 seconds). Moved to defensive back in 2000 and played in 11 games without a start, recording 14 tackles, one pass broken up and no interceptions. Returned 17 kicks for 263-0. Moved to safety in '01 and started six of 11 games, recording 47-3-1 and returning 11-221-0.

Positives: Physical hitter and tackler. Tough. Effective in run support and plays effectively near the line of scrimmage. Has enough foot and hip quickness to cover a slot receiver. Can press and turn and run with receivers and plays the ball nicely.

Negatives: Lacks size and the speed to cover deep. Will get engulfed playing near the line of scrimmage at the NFL level. Struggles against bigger receivers.

Summary: Undersized for a safety in the NFL, and best shot is as a cover-2 corner. Could be a solid special-teams contributor.
