DE | (6-1, 258, 4.75) | Nebraska
By Pro Football WeeklyNotes: Had his knee scoped in August 1998 and redshirted. Recorded five tackles, two tackles for loss and half a sack and returned a fumble for a touchdown in '99. Started the first four games in 2000 and had 12 tackles, one tackle for loss and a sack. Started at right defensive end in '01 and had 25-8-5¼ with one interception. Was Nebraska's "Lifter of the Year" in '02. Played in all 12 games with eight starts and had 34-9-3½ as part of a three-man rotation at rush end.Positives: Has quickness and speed. Moves well laterally and maintains power on the move. Has good character and is a hard worker who is coachable and intelligent. Looks like Tarzan and has arms down to his knees. Speed, edge-type rusher who can hand-fight and has decent quick twitch. Loves the weight room.Negatives: Is not mean, intense or physical and needs to develop inside and counter moves. Is a little stiff and looks too small when lined up over an offensive tackle. Could fit a 3-4 defense as a strong-side linebacker. Doesn't shed blocks well. Production was only average, and he lacks bulk strength and growth potential. Summary: Lack of size is a major drawback, but if he can play with a consistent burst, Adams will get his chance.* Player biographies are provided by Pro Football Weekly.
