DE | (6-2, 243, 4.8) | Miami (FL)
By Pro Football WeeklyNotes: Kilgore (Texas) Junior College transfer. Played in every game in 2000 and started the last five. Had 27 tackles, seven tackles for loss and three QB sacks. Lost starting job at the beginning of the '01 season after suffering a turf-toe injury early in the year and decided to redshirt. Suffered a torn right anterior cruciate ligament vs. Pitt Nov. 21, 2002, making him a long-term, developmental type of prospect. The injury prevented his participation in workouts at the Scouting Combine. Had 35-61-6 in 10 games before the injury.Positives: Green is a good athlete who runs well and has some pass-rush potential. Will flash some explosiveness and can be a big hitter.Negatives: Is injured. Couldn't be more of a DE-OLB tweener because of his lack of size and hit-and-miss skills. His frame could hold more weight, but Green has not been able to hold extra bulk. Would struggle at linebacker because he cannot cover and is slow from sideline-to-sideline.Summary: Torn ACL makes his draft chances slim, but plenty of teams should be willing to give Green a chance to compete this summer.* Player biographies are provided by Pro Football Weekly.
