Johnathan Sullivan

DT | (0-0, 313) | Georgia
By Pro Football Weekly

Notes: Went to Griffin High School in Georgia and was an honorable mention for the USA Today All-USA team. Attended Hargrave Military Academy prep school, where he had 43 tackles and 11 sacks and played some tight end. Played in 10 regular season games as a true freshman in 2000 and had 34 tackles, three tackles for loss and one sack. In '01, he had 46-8-4 and three interceptions splitting time at defensive tackle and defensive end because of injuries. Played 11 games and started 10, including a two-sack game vs. Houston. Associated Press first-team All-Southeastern Conference in '02, second-team All-SEC by the coaches. Had two 10-tackle games (Florida, Auburn) as a junior, when he totaled 74-15½-4.

Positives: Has very good athletic ability and good to good-plus size, strength and quickness. Anticipates well and flows to the ball. Can key and diagnose and has innate recognition skills. Doesn't lose much changing directions and maintains a good pad level. When playing his best, will create havoc in the backfield, play with leverage and flashes pass-rush skills. Is persistent and plays until the whistle blows on every down.

Negatives: Can be slow off the ball and lose leverage. Needs to develop counter moves. Has below-average feet and will miss tackles, especially in space.

Summary: A 60-minute player whose greatest strength might be his consistency. That is likely enough to get Sullivan drafted in the first round.
