Thomas Barnett

OT | (0-0, 315) | Kansas State
By Pro Football Weekly

Notes: Sixth-year player in '02. Walked on and redshirted in 1997. Started the last five games in '98, 10 games in '99 and every game in 2000. Broke his leg in two-a-days in '01 and missed the year. Started his senior season at right tackle but moved to the left side and was named Kansas State's Outstanding Offensive Lineman in '02. Started 43 games in his career.

Positives: Has played both left and right tackle but is a natural right tackle whose strength is one-on-one run blocking. Will maul straight ahead and has good hand punch. Is tough and nasty. Has long 34-inch arms. Strong and good at the point of attack.

Negatives: Lacks foot quickness and will struggle to adjust to movement. Lunges, lacks body control, does not change directions well and will look clumsy at times. Plays too upright and relies on his size, long arms and upper-body strength to get it done. Poor footwork and average agility and balance. Can look like bull in a china shop. Often crosses his steps to catch up. Injuries could be a concern.

Summary: Does not have the size or feet to be a tackle at the next level and will have to move inside to stand a chance. Could be a late-round possibility.
