Shane Hall

OG | (0-0, 300) | South Carolina
By Pro Football Weekly

Notes: Hurt his shoulder before the start of the 1999 season but came back to play in five games and start twice. Played in every game in 2000 and '01. Started twice in 2000 and 11 times in '01. Played left and right tackle and right guard and was a coaches' second-team All-Southeastern Conference pick last year.

Positives: Has size with long arms. Has a good punch and locks out in pass protection. Engulfs blockers. Good intangibles. Good on his feet and gives effort. Aware. Very smart player with good heart, hustle and competitiveness. Position-type blocker with adequate balance.

Negatives: Lacks athletic ability and quick-twitch. Does not handle speed well and lacks play strength. Needs to improve in space and adjusting on the second level. Has no pop and is late out of his stance. Poor hips, too upright and gets levered. Body pusher with no hit, pop or power. Marginal athlete who lacks top quickness, agility and is not explosive. A little slow off the ball, does not bend his knees and seems to have some lower-body stiffness.

Summary: Developmental finesse blocker who is more of a priority free agent but could sneak into a late round because of his size, experience and upside.
