Jake Kuppe

OT | (0-0, 350) | Minnesota
By Pro Football Weekly

Notes: Redshirted in 1998. Played in every game and started one in '99. Started every game in 2000 and all but one in '01. Made 10 regular-season starts at right tackle last season.

Positives: Kuppe is huge, quick-footed and athletic for his size. He moves well in a limited area and can shuffle, slide and change directions when he doesn't overextend. He has decent agility, is a known hustle player and gives good effort. Has a good base and balance, some flexibility and is lighter on his feet than you would guess. Probably is best-suited for right tackle.

Negatives: Has short arms for a man his size. Will overextend at times. Kuppe is too heavy to block effectively down the field and is more of a position, finesse-type run blocker. Doesn't do a good job of finishing his blocks.

Summary: If Kuppe loses weight and becomes more physical, he can play in the NFL and is best-suited to play for a team that likes big, bulky zone blockers.
