Patrick Smith

? | (0-0, 305) | Central Arkansas
By Pro Football Weekly

Notes: USC's starting long-snapper in 1996. Transferred to San Diego State in '97 and redshirted. Out of football the next two years. Starting left tackle at Central Arkansas since his arrival in 2000. Missed one game with a shoulder injury last fall.

Positives: Long-snapping ability could be his ticket, since he also can serve as a backup at any OL position. As a snapper, he has NFL velocity and accuracy.

Negatives: Is not a really smooth snapper. Has a hitch in delivery. Is not an NFL-caliber offensive lineman at this point. Plays too upright and does not use his hands well. Seems to play down to the level of his competition at times.

Summary: How well he snaps will have a lot to say about his future, since good long-snappers are at a premium, even if they are just emergency OL backups.
