By Pro Football WeeklyNotes: Redshirted in 1998. Started all but one game in '99 and completed 131-of-248 passes for 1,900 yards with nine touchdowns and 12 interceptions. Started every game in 2000, completing 143-253-1,903-10-6. Had a phenomenal year in '01. Completed 201-288-3,273-49-3 and rushed 96 times for 586 yards and six touchdowns before suffering a torn left posterior cruciate ligament in November, causing him to miss three playoff games and leading to January surgery. Was runner up for the Harlon Hill Trophy in '01 despite having the highest QB rating ever and getting more first-place votes than the winner. Won the Harlon Hill Trophy in '02, when he led Grand Valley to the NCAA Division-II championship, completing 278-414-3,692-47-6. Also rushed for 43-129-0.Positives: Accurate passer with timing, touch and production. Has good feet, can buy time with them and run a little. Rare TD-to-INT ratio.Negatives: Marginal height. Does not have a very strong arm and played against lower-caliber competition. Had a great supporting cast.Summary: Dominated his level, but has only marginal tools for the NFL. If he can show his knee is fine, Anes may prove to be more than a camp arm.* Player biographies are provided by Pro Football Weekly.
