Earnest Graham

RB | (0-0, 225) | Florida
By Pro Football Weekly

Notes: Carried six times for 20 yards in two games in 1998 before redshirting after hurting his foot and having surgery. Missed three games with a thigh injury but led the team in rushing with 117-654 and five touchdowns and had six catches for 37 yards in '99. Started four games in 2000, split time and rushed 121-676-8 with 19 catches for 144 yards. Team was 0-2 in '01 in the two games Graham missed with ankle and knee injuries. Carried 125-650-9 and caught 12-129 in nine regular-season games and then had 16-149-2 vs. Maryland in the Orange Bowl. Started every game in '02 and carried 218-965-9 and caught 22-93. Did not run at the Scouting Combine because of recent surgery on right little toe.

Positives: Graham is a short, stocky, powerful, low-to-the-ground runner with excellent balance and body control. He runs with good lean, has quick feet in traffic and finishes his runs. Flashes above-average cutback ability. Catches the ball well out of the backfield. Could develop as a slot receiver if his hands improve.

Negatives: Lacks height. Graham hasn't been that durable and lacks home-run speed and really nifty make-you-miss moves. Can catch but isn't really natural and is more of a body catcher whose catches come when he is facing the quarterback. Has had some problems with fumbles.

Summary: Instinctive, move-the-chains runner who will always give you an honest day's work but is no Emmitt Smith.
