What a moment for Jim Slater. Not bad for a guy who was on the verge of retirement before getting the call from USA Hockey. "My wife was like, 'You gotta go for it and give yourself an opportunity.' That's what I did and it's worked out, and it's definitely been worth it," said Slater, to Click On Detroit earlier this month. Slater, 35, played 584 games in the NHL, mostly with the Atlanta Thrashers.
