Boston Bruins coach Claude Julien on Brad Marchand: "What I like about Brad, and I'm being very honest about that, is that he's such a professional. He's not done trying to get better. He's not going to sit on his contract and say, ‘I've got it done now, I can relax.' He's got visions of greater things and I know that because I've had him for a long time. I've said all along, for all the things people have heard or seen from him, the things they don't see is a guy that comes to every game extremely prepared and professional on how he gets ready to play. He's so serious when he comes to the rink at night, as far as getting ready. He can have fun and clown around with the guys in practices, but when it comes to games it's all business and he's got it figured out. You've got to enjoy the game and you also have to know when it's time to put your head into your job and he's got that figured out real well."

Boston Bruins coach Claude Julien on Brad Marchand's new contract: "Well, I think it's great for everybody. To me, that contract was a win-win situation for both sides. It's a well-deserved contract for Brad. The way he's grown as a player, as a person and everything else, he's become an elite player, so he's been rewarded for it. At the same time, I really feel it's a friendly cap hit for our hockey club for the type of player he is, so I think both sides won on this, I really do. You hope that's a great example of more of those to come."

Boston Bruins' Patrice Bergeron on Brad Marchand's contract extension: "I'm really happy. He's an amazing player I really enjoy to play with and we've created a lot of chemistry over the years. I was getting a little worried now with him playing with Sid," Bergeron said with a laugh. "I'm really happy it's done and we can move forward for himself and also for us as a team. I can't say enough about him. It's well deserved and he's an amazing player."
