Center hurt early in loss to Pens

PITTSBURGH -- Buffalo Sabres center Chris Drury will be out a week to 10 days with a separated right shoulder sustained in the first period Tuesday against the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Drury was hurt on an apparently routine hit, and the Sabres initially didn't think the injury was serious.

"He didn't really get hit that hard," coach Lindy Ruff said. "He just went in kind of strange and hurt his shoulder."

Drury is the Sabres' third leading scorer with five goals and 14 assists for 19 points, but he has only two goals in the past 21 games.
