Devils goalie: 'It's too bad'

MONTREAL -- New Jersey Devils goalie Martin Brodeur thinks some of the NHL's 30 teams could fold if there is a prolonged labor dispute that delays the start of next season.

"When everything is said and done, if we do have a lockout and we're out for a long time, I'm sure that teams will disappear, and it's too bad," Brodeur said Monday before the Devils' game against the Montreal Canadiens.

"Definitely for us, as NHLPA members, you want your business to do well and have more people working."

The labor agreement between owners and players is set to expire before next season. The league wants some form of salary cap, which the players' union opposes.
