Preds' Walker has surgery, could miss 10 weeks

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Nashville Predators forward Scott Walker will miss up to 10 weeks after surgery for a sports hernia.
The operation will be performed Thursday, general manager David
Poile said. Walker said Tuesday he was hoping another week of rest
would allow him to avoid surgery.
Walker already has missed six games with what team officials
called an abdominal strain and has not played since Oct. 22. The
11-year veteran will have surgery in St. Louis and will have to
rest for two weeks before beginning rehabilitation.
Walker had five points in the seven games he had played this
season. Nashville has lost five of the six games Walker has missed.
