Report: Guerin to have surgery to repair broken orbital

Dallas Stars forward Bill Guerin will have surgery Thursday to repair a broken orbital bone, according to a report in Wednesday's editions of The Dallas Morning News.

Guerin is expected to miss about a week, Stars coach Dave Tippett told the newspaper.

"He'll get that taken care of and then take a little time to get it healed," Tippett said in the Morning News. "The good thing is, he's seeing clearly."

Guerin was injured in the first period Monday night when he was struck in the right eye by a high stick from Vancouver's Brendan Morrison. Guerin did not return and Morrison was given a double-minor. The Stars won 4-2.
