Hand surgery to bench Blues D McKee 4-6 weeks

ST. LOUIS -- St. Louis Blues defenseman Jay McKee is
expected to be out four to six weeks after having surgery Monday on
his broken right hand.

McKee was injured in the first period Friday against the
Vancouver Canucks when he blocked a shot by Rory Fitzpatrick. It
was McKee's first game of the season he missed the first seven with
a knee injury.

McKee signed a four-year, $16 million contract with the Blues in
July. Last season he led the NHL with 241 blocked shots in 75 games
and matched his career high with five goals.
