DENVER -- The Colorado Avalanche will be without their
best offensive defenseman for approximately four weeks.
John-Michael Liles suffered a broken left foot in the first
period of Saturday's 2-1 shootout win at Minnesota.
The 26-year-old Liles ranks fourth among NHL defensemen in goals
with 10 and is tied for 12th in scoring with 29 points. He is
the first defenseman to score 10 or more goals in each of his
first three seasons since Steve Duchesne from 1986-87 to
