Canada tabs Robitaille as assistant GM of national team; Yzerman named GM

LOS ANGELES -- Luc Robitaille will serve as assistant
general manager of Canada's team at the world championships in May.

Hockey Canada also announced Monday that Steve Yzerman will be
the general manager and Doug Armstrong will be an assistant GM.

Yzerman was Canada's GM at last year's world championships in
Moscow, where the team went 9-0 and won its third gold medal in
five years.

Robitaille is in his first season as president of business
operations for the Los Angeles Kings, with whom he played 15 of his
19 NHL seasons. He played for Canada's national team three times.

The tournament will be held May 2-18 in Quebec City and Halifax,
Nova Scotia, marking the first time the world championships will
come to Canada.
