With Harding ill, Wild recall Schaefer to back up Backstrom

ST. PAUL -- The Minnesota Wild have added an emergency goalie for their game against the league-leading Detroit Red Wings. Nolan Schaefer has been recalled from the minors.

Josh Harding has an upset stomach, so his status is in question. This is the third time Schaefer has been summoned from the Houston Aeros, but he has not appeared in a game. Schaefer played in the AHL's All-Star Game last month. He has a 2.16 goals-against average.

Niklas Backstrom has regained last season's form recently for Minnesota, which has won three games in a row. Backstrom has given up only four goals in those three games.

Forward Mark Parrish might not play against the Red Wings, either. He suffered a mild concussion in Saturday's game at Columbus and did not take part in the morning skate-around.
