VanRiemsdyk, Wilson selected for U.S. National Junior Team

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- Top NHL prospects Colin Wilson and James vanRiemsdyk were among the 22 players selected to the U.S. National Junior Team on Wednesday.

VanRiemsdyk, a winger for New Hampshire who was picked second by the Flyers in last year's NHL draft, is tied for 11th in points per game in the NCAA.

Wilson, picked seventh by Nashville in this year's draft, ranks second, with 20 points for Boston University.

The team plays in the 2009 World Junior Championships, which begin later this month in Ottawa. VanRiemsdyk and Wilson were on the team that finished fourth at the 2008 junior championships.

The University of Minnesota placed a team-high three players on the squad, including defenseman Cade Fairchild, who also was on the 2008 team.
