Mike Knuble won't play in Game 5

Washington forward Mike Knuble will not play in Saturday's Game 5 against the New York Rangers, Capitals coach Bruce Boudreau said after the team's practice Friday.

Knuble also missed Game 4 of the Eastern Conference first-round series, which the Capitals lead 3-1 after Wednesday's 4-3 double-overtime victory.

It's unknown exactly how Knuble was injured, or the extent of the injury, but he appeared to have gotten hurt in Sunday's Game 3, when he was hit in the right hand by a puck.

Since then, the injury has prevented him from practicing with the team.
