Martin Havlat returns for Sharks

SAN JOSE, Calif. -- Veteran winger Martin Havlat of the San Jose Sharks will be in the lineup for Game 3 Saturday night, returning after a five-game injury absence.

Havlat, who left Game 1 of the playoffs against Vancouver last round with a lower-body injury, informed the coaching staff after the morning skate that he was a go.

"He's come to see me, he thinks he's ready to go, so we'll find a spot for him,'' Sharks head coach Todd McLellan said after the morning skate.

Havlat's return comes as the Sharks are down 2-0 in their second-round series with the Los Angeles Kings.

They need any boost they can get.

"His experience is important, he's played a number of games at the playoff level,'' said McLellan. "He's an older player, he's been through a lot. But I want a good, hard honest effort from Marty. I want him to bring his 'A' game. I want him to compete hard all over the rink and make a difference. But, you could ask me about 19 other players that are going to dress and I would tell you the exact same thing.''
